Mindful Chinese Calligraphy Workshop
五月书法工作坊
The May event was finished in style on May 21.
It was amazing to see how calm and focused all the participants were on a Friday afternoon, one hour flew by during the children's quiet and mindful writing. Unbelievable!

During the Easter holidays last month, I was so annoyed to see my 14Y boy spend hours and hours in his room with his computer, Nintendo switch, mobile phone and...screens! Together with bribery and threat, I managed to make him join me for one hour of calligraphy practice. I set up the paper, brush and ink on our dinner table, turned on his ‘Lofi Study Music’, and put some chocolate cookies on a plate. He sat down and started to write. We chatted, wrote, ate...one hour flew by! It was the best mother and son time we have had in a long time. At the end he said to me ‘Your thing is actually very calming.’ I was so thrilled and suggested ‘Let’s do it again next holidays.’ He ran away without a reply but with a smile…
This gave me the idea to run this workshop. In this noisy, screen filled world, let calligraphy practice transport your children to a place of calm and relaxation, even if it is only one hour. |
